THE ART WORK OF JIM JACKSON

Most often what I do as an artist is a personal expression of iconic events in my own life as relived through memories and the spontaneous use of materials. I am in love with the sensual potential of paint and color, line and form. My muse is mother nature, she often finds clever ways to surprise me and guide my work. The depth of her purse is endless.

Shown here are works on shaped canvases which are sometimes cut, opened and folded to create a kind of two and a half dimensional spacial play. The traditional boundaries of materials bore me and if you take a look at my website you will see examples of my work melding into other media, like photography and animation.
