Marcia E. Cohen

I rarely paint what is actually there. I use India ink in many of my paintings drawn with pens I carve from bamboo garden stakes. This allows the ink to flow in a variety of different patterns. I like to incorporate the irregular lines of the ink with my paintings.

I also collage bits of magazines with watercolor, so that there is transition between paint and paper.  Some paintings just don't work, so I rip them up and collage them with ink, paper and more watercolor.
