LAINIE SENECHAL is an accomplished poet and painter, and an award-winning public school teacher of 30 years. She has published over 75 poems and her work appears in four anthologies. She is co-author with Harris Gardner of Chalice of Eros (Stone Soup Poets), and with her sisters Donna and Laura Senechal of Naiad’s Lantern by Esther Triess (Mothwing Press). Her most recent publication is a chapbook, Vocabulary of Awakening (Pudding House, 2008).
HENRY BRAUN is a poet, teacher and peace activist. During the Vietnam War he organized poetry read-ins, withholding of war taxes and draft card turn-ins. He is still active in the anti-war movement in his home state of Maine. Most of his career as a teacher of literature and creative writing was at Temple University, including a year at Temple’s branch campus in Japan. The Vergil Woods, his first book of poems was published by Atheneum in 1968. His work has appeared in many magazines, including Poetry, The Nation, The Massachusetts Review, American Poetry Review, Prairie Schooner, and The Colorado Review, and in several anthologies. He is presently a Contributing Editor for the American Poetry Review. His book, Loyalty, New and Selected Poems, is the first offering of Off the Grid Press, and won a 2008 Maine Literary Award.
The reading begins with a short open mike. Come at 7 PM to help set up, sign up for open mike and nosh and schmooze. Following the reading you are invited to a wine and cheese reception. (A donation of $3 is requested to help with the cost.)

Thanks to many others for help on logistics, and the writers who come month after month. The reading is held at Cambridge Co-Housing, 175 Richdale Ave. in Cambridge, 3 blocks from the Red Line stop at Porter Square. A request to the City of Cambridge allows out-of-town visitors to park on Richdale Avenue from 6:30-10:30 PM.
