I continue to teach an ever-changing workshop in improvisation called Dancing Outside the Lines that begins again in March, 2014.
Visual artist:
My work is moving from painting the people, animals and scenery I see toward exploring the landscape of my imagination. I am currently very interested in paint itself, in excavating the layers of paint to find deeper meaning. I frequently begin a painting by applying paint to canvas in shapes, rhythms and marks that interest me and wait for the subject matter to emerge. I am working concurrently on multi-media drawings and collages that assist me in mining my imagination. I enjoy working in several media at once.
For the past decades I have been doing a lot of my painting on the South Coast of Jamaica. I currently paint in a studio at Vernon St. Studios, 6 Vernon St., Somerville and live in Cambridge.
